A Different Way Forward for Young People
A Different Way Forward for Young People
Choosing the right next step for your child can feel overwhelming — especially if school hasn’t worked, confidence is low, or past systems have let them down.
Youth Trailblazer was created for young people exactly like this.
It’s a supportive, relationship‑led programme for 18–21 year olds who need something gentler, more flexible and more human than traditional education — and for parents who want to know their child is safe, valued and moving forward.
If This Sounds Familiar, You’re Not Alone
Many come to us worried because their child:
- Has struggled or disengaged from school
- Has lost confidence in learning
- Feels anxious, overwhelmed or misunderstood
- Doesn’t trust education or “programmes” anymore
- Wants to move forward, but doesn’t know how
Youth Trailblazer is not about forcing people to fit a system.
It’s about building confidence first, then progress.
What Makes Youth Trailblazer Different?
A Trauma‑Informed, Flexible Approach
We understand that young people bring different experiences with them.
Youth Trailblazer is designed to support those who may be dealing with:
- Mental health challenges
- Housing or family instability
- Past negative experiences of school
- Low self‑esteem or fear of failure
Progress doesn’t have to be linear. We work with real life, not against it.
Why It Works
The biggest driver of Trailblazer’s success hasn’t been advertising.
It’s been the young people.
Former and current Trailblazers now lead recruitment on the ground – in hostels, foodbanks, youth centres, probation services, cafés, football centres and community spaces.
They speak from lived experience.
They are trusted.
They are real.
This peer‑led approach has transformed engagement:
- higher attendance
- faster trust
- stronger retention
- exponential word‑of‑mouth growth
Because when someone “gets it”, young people listen.
A Community, Not “Another Course”
Young people don’t just attend Youth Trailblazer — they belong.
Learning happens alongside PET‑Xi staff who work in finance, HR, marketing and operations, giving learners positive role models and real‑world exposure. Many young people find mentors naturally as they start to see what they could become.
This sense of belonging is often what’s missing elsewhere.
Safety Comes First
Youth Trailblazer is delivered at PET‑Xi’s Coventry Head Office, not a college campus or school. It’s a calm, welcoming environment where young people feel safe to be themselves.
- Small, supportive groups
- Fully DBS‑checked staff
- Clear routines without rigid pressure
- A workspace that feels grown‑up, not classroom‑based
When young people feel secure, they’re far more able to engage.
