PET-Xi Business Futures programme supported those who were looking at moving into self employment across Warwickshire.

Business Futures
PET-Xi’s barrier breaking ‘Business Futures’ programme was developed to help those aged 16+ who were considering moving into self-employment.
We provided a high level of personal attention, mentoring and motivational support. Through our personal mentoring approach and comprehensive programme, individuals had the opportunity to gain the skills required to investigate and consider their move into self employment.
The program included access to tried and tested business planning modules including:
- Developing a business plan
- Developing business ideas
- Market analysis and feasibility
- Access to funding including business angels
- Legal compliance including legal structures
- Community & Voluntary Sector Support for Entrepreneurship
- How to market your business
- Introduction to bookkeeping
- Business structure, registration and grant applications
- Business coaching and career mentoring
- Aged 16+
- Currently living within a Warwickshire postcode
- Unemployed or Not in Education, Employment or Training at another provider at the start of the course
- Considering the move into Self Employment
This project was funded by the UK Government through the UK Community Renewal Fund.
The UK Community Renewal Fund is a UK Government programme for 2021/22. This aims to support people and communities most in need across the UK to pilot programmes and new approaches to prepare for the UK Shared Prosperity Fund. It invests in skills, community and place, local business, and supporting people into employment.
