The Maths High-5 programme is a five-day course, focussing on topics, problem solving methodologies and exam techniques, allowing learners to create their own personalised revision resource. The use of ‘Golden Rules’ and memorable step by step processes are embedded within the course to help with revision and recall. The course begins and ends with a full sitting of an officially sanctioned examination, plus daily assessments to monitor progress.
Our programme covers National Curriculum topics, and schools can specify their exam board (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, WJEC Eduqas), and can include the 2017 specification for GCSE Statistics. We differentiate by Higher and Foundation tiers, as well as Intermediate for Wales, and the programme comes with the reassurance of the PET-Xi promise.
This tightly structured 5 day course has a simple focus on grade improvement. Schools choose either a Paper 1 or Paper 2 focus. Students are guided through effective approaches to every question on the paper and then practise examination technique. They are exposed to many ways of impressing the examiner, managing their time and ensuring they precisely address the requirements for each individual question. This 5 day course begins and ends with a full sitting of an officially sanctioned examination. These are then marked, re-marked and verified by our specifically trained PET-Xi markers and extensive reports provided, so that schools are able to demonstrate learner progress clearly and reliably.
