Job Title: Head of Skills

Location: Coventry/ Home Based

Salary Range: £50,000 - £60,000

This exciting role has a full remit across all Skills Delivery of PET-Xi in supporting the MD and Department Heads to drive a high-performance and quality culture across the business. Operating at both a strategic and operational level you will assume responsibility for ensuring delivery both complies with Ofsted’s Inspection requirements and the companies drive towards continual improvement in teaching and learning whilst driving performance across all skills contracts.

JOB SUMMARY:

Full responsibility for PET-Xi performance & Quality across a range of contracts.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responsibility for ongoing performance management and contract review processes for all skills contracts.
  • Ensuring compliance with ESFA/ESF and external body regulations and funding rules including external audits.
  • Leading on the strategy for driving performance and advising the MD
  • You’ll implement effective KPI’s that allow the management team to track performance improvements across multiple funding strands and will be exposed to all areas of the organisation, playing an active role in leading change, operational improvement and strategy development and deployment.
  • You’ll also be responsible for training and guidance to all levels of managers and staff on performance and service improvement as well as coordinating the communication of all performance issues and managing budgets and expenditure. You’ll be required to prepare and submit reports to SMT and the MD, to coordinate internal audits, to undertake holistic risk and needs assessments and to be aware of all developments in associated government, regional and local issues.
  • Operating at a strategic level you will assume responsibility for ensuring all funding strands maximise opportunities for cross pollination and the relationships between each strand are developed strategically to maximise income.
  • You will oversee the delivery of a comprehensive integrated performance improvement regime that ensures that all national and local targets are monitored, reported, managed and resolved. You will have responsibility for integrating a wide range of measures and processes across the organisation ensuring there is alignment across the Company in reporting performance, therefore providing the MD the Senior Leadership Team with greater visibility and understanding of the delivery of the services provided
  • To take a senior lead in ensuring the delivery and development of operational contract, performance and management processes, in the widest sense including, contract negotiation, contract and schedule development, proactive monitoring and delivery management.
  • To develop and establish rigorous processes to support assurance and early detection of potential risks/issues to enable the proactive early identification of adverse performance variances.
  • To lead on ensuring swift remedial action where necessary and ensure appropriate routes of escalation, where required.
  • To operate a key governance role in the production, analysis and quality assurance of information and data flows in order to inform robust business decisions.
  • To lead and influence management decisions based on the principle of standardisation.
  • Oversee the delivery of a comprehensive integrated quality improvement regime that ensures that all national and local quality targets are monitored, reported, managed and resolved.

  • To own and lead the audit process and to ensure compliance in meeting both funding requirements and expectations regarding quality of delivery and representing the company on external audits.
    To lead on internal quality audits, to undertake holistic risk assessments
  • lead and influence management decisions regarding Quality of delivery based on the principles of standardisation and best practice.
  • Managing and Supporting the development and improvement of programmes across all provision.
  • Conduct robust self-assessment and lead in the implementation of the companies overarching quality improvement plan.
  • To assume responsibility for ensuring ‘in scope’ delivery both complies with Ofsted’s 2019 standards and the companies wider drive towards continual improvement in teaching and learning
  • Acting as the company lead in preparing for and representing the company in regard to Ofsted Inspections

  • Promote and monitor high standards of attainment, success rates, progress and outcomes across all provision.
  • To monitor, analyse learner data and surveys, feedback and make changes as required and provide reports to SMT. This should include but not be limited to: learner destinations, learner perception surveys, the monitoring of Equality and Diversity against outcomes for leaners and against EDIMS benchmarking data or other appropriate data standard.
  • Act as the senior lead in ensuring OTLAs take place across ALL contracts and ensuring proactive monitoring and the management of quality improvements within teaching.

    • to plan and deliver staff development on teaching and learning as required
    • to contribute to new staff induction and support
  • Maintain delivery staff and learners’ interests in the subject.
  • Oversee the IQA process from end to end ensuring sampling and monitoring the work of IQAs according to the centre and awarding body strategies whilst acting as centre lead.
  • Ensure all learner registrations and claims for achievement are compliant with company and awarding body policies and are in a timely and accurate fashion
  • Ensuring the appropriate identification, justification and documentation of training requirements for ALL learners.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with External Quality Assurers and other professionals as required.

GENERAL DUTIES
