Let PET-Xi help you make the most of your levy fund.
Here are our top 5 tips on how to use your Apprenticeship Levy.
The big challenge for learning, development and talent managers is working out how to maximize the opportunity and make it work across the entire organisation. Here are our tips to help you start the planning process and get the most from the Apprentice Levy now.
1 – Don’t panic: now money has started to ‘disappear’ from your business, there could be an increased sense of urgency to have concrete plans in place. However it is important to realise that you have two years to start to use the money accruing in your fund. This gives you plenty of time to ensure that you get the most from the opportunity.
2 – Establish your skills and talent pipeline: Before you can think about what types of apprenticeships to focus on, a better place to start is to identify what skills and behaviours are needed for your business, both now and in the future. Where will they come from? Do you recruit new people and develop them or upskill some of your current staff?
3 – Start planning now to maximize the levy: Whatever stage you are at with the new levy, beginning with a clear focused plan will ensure that you develop people with the right skills for the organisation and make sure you squeeze every drop of value from the process.
4 – Think beyond the obvious: The opportunities for upskilling and developing people are far wider than the ‘traditional’ concept of an apprentice. You can use the Levy funds to develop anyone in the organisation. Look across the business.
5 – Partner with the right Training Providers: To maximise the opportunities offered by the Levy funding, finding the right partner is key. The best providers will work with you to identify all the necessary skills and behaviours, and will then tailor what they provide to meet your specific requirements. A professional Partner will deliver programmes that meet the Apprenticeships Standards while integrating your competences, values and ways of working into a practical format.
We’re delighted to be an approved supplier on the Government Register of Apprentice Trainer Providers. Our official supplier status combined with our years of experience will ensure your journey into the Apprentice Levy will deliver real value to your organisation.
